Body

An ode to breasts

2 min readLucy

I love breasts. I love mine, and I love yours!

I don't get why mainstream platforms will show a woman's body when it's being used to sell something, suggest something, or turn someone on.

Push-up bra? Fine.

Deep cleavage? Fine.

Sexual innuendo? Fine.

Objectification? Fine.

But a naked breast, just existing? Censored. And that is so strange to me.

They're just… breasts. I love breasts.

I love my own. I love looking at other people's.

They're all different. Different shapes, different sizes, different nipples, different ways they sit, move, change with age. And always SO BEAUTIFUL.

They're soft. They're elegant. They can feed a baby.

Mainstream social media seem perfectly comfortable with breasts when they're packaged for consumption. When they're pushed up, covered just enough or photographed suggestively.

But show the whole breast without insinuating sexuality?

OH, YOU WOULDN'T DARE! YOU WITCH!

Why? Why is objectification tolerated, yet just being naked is not?

Why have they decided that seeing a nipple automatically transforms an image into something sexual? And why do we let them decide that for us?

I don't want to pretend breasts can never be sexual. Of course they can.

But...

Sometimes a naked breast is just a naked breast and nothing more.

So consider this my little ode to breasts.

I love mine and yours!

That's also why I built Perzik. On Perzik, a naked breast is allowed to just be a naked breast.
